a day in the life of

i've said it many times: i'm an old lady. i'm nearing cougardom.

the other night a new friend from work invited me out for "coffee" after we finished. despite a growing headache, i accepted. coffee turned into 2 martinis, 2 rye n cokes, and some antijitos (and a ramikin of chocolate chips). this new friend is about a lifetime (5 yrs) younger than me...I felt the need to try and keep up. the martinis quickly worked their magic and we spent the next while laughing our faces off much to the dismay of the other patrons in the joint. new work friend had invited two other accomplices along to join in the antics. one of which offered me a ride home. on the way home, she picked up on an earlier conversation and asked me what church i go to. turns out she's a christian and about 10yrs younger than me, and i feel like a royal screw-up for not acting my age and/or being a better role model. regardless of this, God continues to work in mysterious ways (as if my stupidity could ruin his plans). we chatted, she's cool. i think it was all for the best...

the moral of the story is: martinis and rye and cokes do not cure headaches (much to my surprise), and you should be on your best behavior at all times, cuz you never know who's watching!!
