praying for guidance...among other things

today started in a great mood as i was looking forward to a job interview. perhaps my good mood showed too much when i walked into work because the she-devil started yelling at me before i'd even taken off my coat. this continued for the remainder of the shift. at one point she instructed me on how she wanted something done and when i agreed and said i had done it that way she screamed "I am sick of your backtalk!!" what? i was agreeing. then as a method of revenge she took away one of my shifts this week and gave it to one of the other girls. then i found out she had been bad-mouthing me to the other staff the night before. needless to say my attitude quickly changed from agreement to "i'll show you some backtalk".

i actually had to take a break, lock myself in the bathroom and pray. i prayed that God would give me the strength to handle it, and i prayed that He would change my heart and attitude towards her. i felt a little better, then went back out in the dining room and got reemed out again. i felt an emotion i didn't recognize and after a little time of self-examination i figured out it was hatred. i didn't think i was capable of such a thing as i've known from a very young age that hatred is a sin. so my grumbling changed and i prayed for her instead of thinking of ways to hurt her back.

i left work and was lucky to have an hour and a half to clear my mind before getting to my interview and thus putting myself back in a good mood. the interview went really well. they are great people and they seem like they would be wonderful to work with. the only concern is the pay. they're offering me a lot less than i had hoped and i'm not sure what to do. it's less hourly than i make waitressing, but since i don't get any hours at the restaurant, it works out to more in the long run. so all i can do is pray for guidance. i would appreciate your prayers too.

on a happy note, my good mood is back as i just got home from easter story rehearsal and it really lifted my spirits. i was joking that since tara moved away and there's no one to keep me under control i've been hanging out with a lot younger crowd and i've started to act like a teenager again lol. but there's nothing wrong with that if it means i'm enjoying life.

that is all.

Thinking of you--hope the job situation gets better.

what do you mean 'acting like a teenager' and 'there's nothing wrong with that if i'm enjoying life'? That may not be good...

silly tara. i just mean i'm laughing a lot and having fun. not misbehaving. phil pearson and i have a new game now that basically involves putting other people's name tags on each others backs :) it's our new weekly ritual at rehearsal. now what's wrong with that?
