Cat Therapy - it's good for the soul

yesterday i got out of bed and was encouraged to see it was plus 2 degrees outside!! this was good news since i was heading to a 2nd interview at dare foods after work and would be dressed up and therefore - not dressed especially warm.

i wore my winter boots to work and brought my interview clothes with me, thus enabling me to go for my morning walk on the way to work. so far so good. unfortunately...my ugly winter boots, though warm, are not waterproof and the slush everywhere soaked right through the toes in the first few minutes. ugh.

work went well. no incidents there. i dressed and left for my interview, still encouraged that it was really nice out. the bus driver was very helpful in telling me which bus and which stop would get me closest to where i needed to be. the interview was great (i think) and i left there feeling pretty positive.

i left the interview at 4:30. i had cell group at 6:30 in somewhat the same vicinity. i didn't want to show up too early, so i went and passed the time in Tim Horton's. spending an hour in Timmy's can be fun...but not by yourself. i read a magazine and watched the minutes tick by.

at 5:30 i decided to walk to cell group. it wasn't all that far and would save me a bus ticket - and besides, i didn't know what time the bus would come. good idea - walking in nice weather to save a bus ticket. bad idea - walking in stilletto boots for half an hour. my knees are angry at me now.

normally i get a ride home with merv, but as he is away i asked heather to drop me off at Stanley Park Mall to catch the bus after. we left gary's just after 9:00pm. she dropped me off and i was 2 minutes too late to catch the bus. the next one didn't come until 10:01. i sat by myself on a bench in stanley park mall (where everything was closed) and waited.

the #1 bus usually turns into the #25 and therefore takes me all the way home. not this time. i got to the station at 10:20 and found the #25 wasn't coming til 11:15. i almost cried. i tried the #24 - not til 10:45. the #8 only gets me halfway home but it was leaving at 10:30 so i took it and then subsequently took a cab from sobey's the rest of the way home.

when i got home, all i wanted to do was crawl in my bed. what started as an encouraging day, really exhausted me in the end. thank goodness for kittens though. sara hopped right up on the bed and cuddled me until all my crankiness was gone.
